After seven years of redefining Jil Sander’s aesthetic, Lucie and Luke Meier step down as co-creative directors, leaving behind a legacy of precision, emotion, and contemporary minimalism.

In a significant shift during Milan Fashion Week, Jil Sander bids farewell to its co-creative directors, Lucie and Luke Meier, as they step down after seven years at the brand. Their final collection for Autumn/Winter 2025 was a testament to their signature balance of modern minimalism and refined craftsmanship, closing an era that redefined the house’s identity.

The Meiers took the reins at Jil Sander in 2017, bringing stability and a renewed vision that embraced purity, precision, and emotion.

The creative duo first met in 2001 while studying at Polimoda in Florence. Lucie, with experience at Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and as interim creative director at Dior, brought a polished, couture-level sensibility to the brand. Luke, previously the head designer at Supreme and co-founder of OAMC, infused an edge of streetwear influence into the collections. Their combined expertise resulted in collections that were both structured and fluid, tailored yet effortlessly wearable.

Jil Sander, now owned by OTB Group since 2021, has yet to announce a successor. The Meiers' departure leaves an open question about the brand’s future direction, as their meticulous approach shaped an aesthetic that felt both timeless and modern. Meanwhile, the industry watches closely to see what creative venture the pair will embark on next.
